Financial assistance to avoid seizure/auction of house of two students

Abel KR (6th Grade) and Joval KR (4th grade) are the students of Matha HS , Mannampetta (Thrissur).  Their mom committed suicide couple of years back and dad sells water melons on the roadside.

Got a request from their class teacher requesting financial aid to avoid seizure/auction of their house by Kerala Cooperative bank from where their family have taken a housing loan.  They have to pay around 4.5 lakh before March 31st. Class teacher came to know about it just 2 days back and they have managed to raise around 3.5 Lakh from teachers, students and through various other well wishers.

Its a genuine case and I know the teachers in the school personally. That school also takes a very nominal fee for these kids (Rs 500 per year) and all their academic expenses are already taken care by the teachers. I have told them that we will give 25K from our group fund. They have shared with me all the docs from the bank and the legal notice.

  11. Dear Teachers of Matha HS,

Your commitment to not only educating the students, but also extending a helping hand to ensure their well-being outside the classroom is nothing short of remarkable. Teachers doing house visits, class teachers tracking the personal issues of students and their family , reaching out to other teachers for help when they need (like in this case of Abel and Joval), everyone responding instantly and coming together and solving their financial crisis in just 3-4 days is truly unbelievable!! This is truly inspirational and we are really happy that we could play a very very small part in Abel and Joval's case.

The selflessness and empathy exhibited by you serves as a shining example of the transformative power of education beyond textbooks. I'm sure this will instill invaluable lessons of compassion, resilience, and solidarity among students.

We will be more than happy to help in such genuine cases going forward.

    Regards,
    Antony & Friends (Tiny Initiatives)
