As I mentioned in one of the earlier post , Akashaparavakal's responsibilities are not just limited to taking care of the mentally challenged women who are picked up from the streets, they also take care of the children of these women.
Jermaine came to Akashaparavakal when she was 2 or 3 years old along with her mentally ill mother many years back. She was given proper education and bought up by Akashaparavakal since then. We noticed her the very first time itself when we went to Akashaparavakal couple of years back as she was enthusiastically running around to do the daily chores at the Ashram. She has a special knack in dealing with the in mates there and we have always felt that each of the women there have a special bonding with her.
For Sr Elishamma, who is the current in charge of the Ashram always mention Jermaine has her own daughter and we have always felt their relationship is actually much stronger than a regular mother-daughter relationship. Sr Elishamma has been searching for a suitable groom for Jermaine since more than a year now and finally her prayers were answered few weeks back. Her marriage is fixed now (Engagement on Jan 09th and marriage on Jan 25th). Now Sr is worried about the marriage expenses and obviously she don't want to send her empty handed to the groom's house after marriage.
We are definitely helping them in our personal capacity and I'm also trying to raise some fund externally for this. I don't intend to use our internal fund for this unless you guys think otherwise. There's lot of additional details that I want to write here, but don't want to drag this post any further as its already long. Please call me in case you want any additional details.
By the way, we had given a B'day surprise to Jermaine (Jeremy) in 2019 and you can see her in this video:

Please find below Jermaine's wedding invitation below (designed by yours truly :-)).
Thx for sharing Puli and good to hear this news . We can use some amount from our fund if they couldn't get it from other sources.
