We were shocked and saddened when the folks at Trithva Ashrama (friends and birds of the air) mentioned that there were days when they ran out of all the supplies and managed with little rice that was left over (keep in mind that they 40-45 women inmates and most of them are mentally ill).
I had also taken my friend Praveen there and we have told them that they will never have that scenario again as long as we are around....From that point , Praveen has been going there regularly and have been buying them groceries, vegetables, chicken etc on a regular basis... I have told them that Praveen will be their first level contact for day-to-day needs and will contact us if Praveen is not around... A big thanks to Praveen and his family for their support...
I also took my friend and colleague Ananth along when I went to check the Grill work.. Later on he approached me and told me that he also wants to help in some way and has agreed to give a monthly amount that we can use for their various needs.....So, thanks to Ananth as well..
Trithva doesn't have a water connection or borewell and hence they have to buy water from outside....They also need at least 9-10 k for milk every month...I'm trying to see whether we can raise enough to take care of their monthly expense for milk and water.... I will keep you posted....
