Baby Antonietta | Bought Home Oxygen equipment and handed it over to her family

Dears,

Yesterday (25th Aug), Jisso and I bought the home oxygen equipment (Philips EverFlo Home Oxygen System), went to baby Antonietta''s house (near Karmalaram, Sarjarpur road ) and handed over the equipment to her parents.

The shop owner (Breath Well Medical Systems)  has given the full assurance of their support in case there are any issues.  They replaced the rented equipment and fitted the one that we gave. The cost of the equipment is 47,000 /- INR. It has a warranty for 3 years.

Her parents are from North east India and following are the updates that I got from them about the baby:

  • Apart from genetic respiratory issue, currently she is not able to swallow, suck , smile or cry :(
  • They are feeding through a tube that has been put through her nose
  • Oxygen supply is through a breathing tube that has been placed in a surgical hole in the throat/neck (tracheotomy)
  • Doctors have told that she will slowly develop the capability to breath by herself, not sure whether this will need any other surgical procedure
  • This machine cannot be made to run 24/7 as it's an electronic equipment and hence they have to switch it off for 20-30 minutes every 3-4 hours. Since baby is critical, they have regular oxygen cylinders that they use during this breaks and when the power goes
  • We can think of buying them a inverter  as well at a later point
  • Both parents are not working currently as they need to devote their complete attention on baby
I have got her dad's number and will follow up periodically.

It was really sad to see the baby in that situation and let's continue praying for her recovery. Just want to see her running around after few months....!!!!!!

Here's few pics that we took:
