Now, it's our turn to take forward what kids had initiated ! - http://tinyinitiative.blogspot.in/2017/04/it-simply-cant-get-any-better.html
Riya managed to contact Pavan's mom (Mrs Indra) and convinced her to admit Pavan to a school near their home. Initially, they were very reluctant (primarily because of financial constraints and secondly because of ignorance). We found a school for Pavan and when I spoke to the principal, he said they can take Pavan directly to 1st standard as he is already 7+ years now. But since he has never been to even a play school before, we suggested the principal to admit him in LKG and and promote him to UKG/1st standard this year itself, if he is able to pick up the concepts fast.
We had to cancel the appointment at school few times as they just didn't turn up for few days. But finally, two weeks back Riya took both Pavan and his mom to school and got him admitted in L.K.G (S.A.V.M school). The good news is that all the staff in the school are service minded and are extremely helpful, and they have dealt with lot of students/parents who have a similar background. School fees/uniform fees and book fees are very reasonable (less than 15K per year) as well.
We had also requested one of the staff (Shankar sir) to send us periodic updates as we have re-located to North Bangalore last week. We were bit skeptical and got worried when the Shankar sir mentioned that they still haven't submitted the photo and few other documents in spite of multiple reminders. We didn't have any way of contacting them either as Pavan's mom does not have a phone. Riya also had mentioned that Pavan was crying big time and even ran out of school couple of times when they went for the admission.
But today (May 30th), we got an update from Shankar sir stating that Pavan is attending school regularly since the school opened (from May 26th) and he sent us this pic of Pavan kuttan in uniform !!!!! :-) I don't think there's anything else which can give us this level of satisfaction and happiness. :-) :-) Joe and Tony were even more excited to see the pic of their new friend in school uniform.. :-)
