Shobavati is a widow and she is working as a helper (aaya ) in a school in Bidar (north Karnataka). Currently she is staying in a small shed made of tin sheet. She has two children, 20 year old girl (already married) and 9 year old boy (3rd standard and studying in the same school). Her husband died 5 years back because of heart attack.
