Chandana's parents had decided to stop sending her to school when she finished 7th and that's when Sr Rosemary told about her to us couple of years back. She was studying in a different school then.
As you know, we discussed this case and immediately agreed to help and requested Sr to get Chandana admitted in Sr's school itself (Presentation school, Mysore). We have been helping her since then every year and she is in 10th standard now. You can find more details about her family background in the link below:

Last month, when we had been to Mysore on a week end and while visiting Sr, we saw some kids in school and Sr said special classes are going on for some sections of 10th standard. That's when we remembered about Chandana, and asked Sr whether she is there in that group by any chance as we had never met her. It was really nice to meet her and to spend some time talking with her.
And guess What !! She is the school vice-captain now !! :-) We were extremely delighted to hear that news. A kid who would have stopped her education couple of years back is the school vice-captain now !!
Unfortunately, she is still going through lots of family issues (financial + issues between her parents) and because of which she is struggling to focus on her studies :-( Sr and other teachers in the school is trying to help her as much they can. Sr said it's better she moves to a boarding after her 10th. I also tried to motivate her a little bit and have promised to take care of all the expenses of her education (plus 2, degree , masters etc) going forward. Let's hope for the best.
Last week, Sr also forwarded a short letter that Chandana wrote to us requesting our prayers for her board exams that is starting on March 7th.
Sreeju, we haven't paid the school fee for this year. Request you to coordinate with others and make the payment to school like you did last year. The amount is 28K. Do it this week itself !!
